Any advice?

Hello everyone. I am currently working on a GIS project using Arcview3, however I have access to ArcGIS9 if needs be. I was wondering whether there was anyone here who can help mne with something.

Is it possible with any extensions or scripts that you may know of to clip polygons by grids? I have been unable to find a method so far and so have been converting all the grids to shapefiles. Obviously this is not ideal and so if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatfully recieved.

Thanks!
Kate

Thanks for trying to help. I'm not trying to clip using a polygon though, that's the problem. I can do that easily, whether using geoprocessing, or using one of the many extensions available if doing it on a grid (my favorite is that wonderful grid tools extension by Jenness.)

What I'm trying to do is take all the squares on the grid that have a certain value and clip a polygon by them. The grid is too big to simply convert to shapefile and so have been trying to get round that problem in the way that would cause as little error as possible.

Have looked through all the extensions/scripts that I can find on the net and so just came on here looking for an enterprising person, who might have made their own, or know a secret.
